What Is Radiesse?

Radiesse® is a unique facial filler comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres that plumps skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and stimulates natural collagen production for longer-lasting results.

Radiesse® is ideal for plumping up areas with lost volume and filling in wrinkles on the face and hands, and it’s able to stimulate new production of the skin’s naturally occurring collagen. Folds and lines around the nose and the mouth are most commonly treated with Radiesse®, although it can also be used for hand rejuvenation.

Once it’s been injected under the surface of the patient’s skin, the Radiesse® gel will deliver immediate plumping results. Over time, the calcium-based gel will stimulate new collagen formation for even longer-lasting results than other dermal fillers. The oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon found within the Radiesse® gel help to create a structure that mimics connective tissue. As the gel is eventually and slowly absorbed back into the body, it leaves behind only the natural collagen in its place.

How Much Does Radiesse Cost?

The cost of Radiesse® treatment depends on the number of units you need to achieve your desired result. To find out your individual cost, we encourage you to contact us to schedule a consultation to develop a tailored treatment plan and review your individual cost for Radiesse®.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Radiesse®?

Adults between the ages of 35 and 60 who have seen their skin develop fine lines, wrinkles, or deep folds around their nose and mouth are ideal candidates for Radiesse® treatment, along with those who have seen a loss of volume in their hands. Often, those who have experienced a fairly extreme loss of fat in their face can also benefit from Radiesse® filler.

Radiesse® doesn’t just treat wrinkles; this facial filler is also a popular choice for lip enhancement for fuller, kissable lips.

How Are Radiesse® Injections Performed?

The entire Radiesse® treatment will only take around 15 minutes to complete – and while it shouldn’t be painful, there may be a small amount of discomfort.

The goals of your treatment will determine what technique will be used, but generally speaking, Radiesse® will be injected into an area just under the surface of the skin at the treatment site with a fine-gauge needle. Once the Radiesse® treatment has been completed, you can immediately resume your normal activities virtually without downtime.

How Long Will the Results of Radiesse® Treatment Last?

Radiesse grants immediate and long-lasting results, with the average patient seeing their results last for over a year and sometimes even as much as two years. Because the results aren’t permanent, however, maintenance treatments will be required in order for patients to maintain optimal results. The active calcium-based ingredient in Radiesse works to stimulate new collagen production to give it longer-lasting results than hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvéderm and Restylane®.

Curious about the longevity of Radiesse® vs. Juvéderm®? Radiesse® reviews show that this filler lasts 12-18 months or longer, while Juvéderm® typically lasts six to nine months. You could see immediate results of your Radiesse® filler, but full results of your treatment appear within about a week.
